A Note from our President
We had a
great panel last month for our Ecopreneurs meeting. Each of our 3 speakers
gave a knowledgeable but different view on how we can all be more eco-friendly
to help our planet.
Chris Bongars, founder and executive director of SustanAsia gave us examples of how changing lightbulbs can save us lots of money in the long run. Lizette Smook, managing director of Innovasians, shared with us how companies are making trousers out of recycled materials, such as water bottles. Dr. Merrin Pearse, our own ecopreneur gave us insights on how you can rennovate your flat or office with eco-friendly products such as clay based paints.
As an adocate of the environment and one of the early founders of Clear the Air in HK, our E Club co-founder Doug Woodring was the moderator for the evening.
August is normally a quiet month for us as many people are on holiday and out of town for the summer. We decided not to have a speaker this month but have put together some social events instead. We are also joining up with other organizations to give everyone more networking opportunities and expand the diversity of topics. Look out for more joint events in the coming months.
Rosie Pekar will be in town to give a talk on Powerful Being - Time to Kick BUT. Powerful Being is about getting rid of the 'Bloody Useless Thoughts' that hold you back. This is an XL event but by special arrangements, E club members can also attend for only $150 per person. This is a not to be missed event and I encourage you all to be there.
Claudia, our club's admin manager had to leave Hong Kong suddenly as her husband was transferred to work in the US. We are sad to see her go as she was just getting to know the club. However, we now have Ben, who has been already learnt the ropes and is doing well with all the inherited tasks and outstanding enquiries. Please stop for a few minutes to meet Ben the next time you're at an event.
To align with the club's new management and renewed energy, we have launched a new website. This website sports a new look with our refreshed logo and more dynamic identity. We are still adding features and functionality to the site, so bear with us while parts of it are still under construction. If you have any feedback or comments regarding the site, please send your comments to ben@entrepreneurs.com.

This event promises to be a fun and informative wine tasting and networking event. It features a guided tasting of 5-6 different wines, including a sparkling wine, by David of Horizon Cellars.
A special touch is added to the experience by Reidel glasses. Reidel will be providing us the free use of their glasses. Discover how this special glass affects the bouquet of the wines, and thus the whole experience of drinking wine.
A joint event with the Hong Kong Association of Business Professional Women and the XL Foundation, this event is a great opportunity for networking in a fun and relaxed setting.
