A Note from our President

Tom Neir, ex-founder and owner of Pacific Coffee Company made a rare appearance for our June gathering at Makumba. He gave a very informal, yet informative talk, encouraging interaction and questions with the participants right from the start. Tom was very generous and shared with us all his insights and tips on how he was able to grow and sell Pacific Coffee for over HK$200 million. This was a real success story and the dream of all entrepreneurs. When asked if Tom gets free coffee in Pacific coffee, his reply was no, he needs to buy just like everybody else. But with over $200 million in the bank, Tom can afford to buy his own cup of coffee.

Burning Issue
We also started the first "Burning Issue" session, which was very popular and will now be a regular spot at the end of each meeting. As people register for the event, the are given a card to write down a burning question, and questions are then placed in a bowl for a draw. At the end of the evening, we pick 3 burning questions and open them up to the floor for comments. This allows questions to be answered by our members and the many experts we often have in the room.

SCMP article
I was interviewed by SCMP a couple of weeks ago on The E Club. Although the full page write up that appeared on June 12 was more on entrepreneurs in general, there was a mention of The E Club. There was also a couple of paragraphs on one of our very own members, Velda Kwan and how she'd rather focus on marketing her own line of health products than return to corporate life.

A life changing breakfast
As a Life member of XL Results Foundation, I highly recommend a Networking Breakfast meeting Wednesday June 21, at the FCC. The speaker Roger Hamilton, Asia's leading wealth consultant, consults entrepreneurs across Asia and is the chairman of XL Results Foundation which consists of Asia's largest entrepreneur network and coaching accreditation program. Roger spoke at the National Achievers Congress and captivated over 4500 people in Singapore last month. You have an unique opportunity to see him for free in Hong Kong. Sign up quickly as space is limited. Details of the breakfast are below.

Looking forward to seeing you all at one of our exciting events soon.

Best regards,

Alexandra Yung

New Club Identity and Website

Some of you may have noticed a new banner at the last event, and a new look for our newsletters. As we are changing the energy and offerings of the club, we have decided to redesign the club's new identity to align more with the new brand. We are currently redesigning the website and will be launching this before our next meeting in July. The site will have a fresh new look with more interactivity and a photo gallery of our past events. Members will be able to upload their own profile into an online directory that can be searched by others easily.

Member's Corner

We would like to feature your story, business offering or a new product launch in the newsletter. Each month, we will highlight one member to give you some PR through our networks. This is not advertising although you can offer your services at a discount if we find that it will be useful for members.

Please submit your story or article to info@entrepreneurs.com.hk and we will select the best stories to run each month.
