A Note from our President
|
||||
|
|
We had a real
inspirational treat with Mark Ingles, the double amputee who climbed Mount
Everest. Mark shared with us his amazing story of how he was trapped in an
ice cave for 13 days, resulting in losing his legs to frostbite. His
attitude deserves a gold medal as he turns every challenge into an
opportunity, and went on to climb Mt. Everest with artificial legs. The
event that was jointly presented with XL Results Foundation was successful
and raised over $12k to send kids from West Island School to Kyzastine for
a trek and community service. A big thank you to all those who
participated in this worth while cause.

Starting in June, we will resume our monthly meetings to the first Tuesday of the month. We have to shift our schedule from time to time to accommodate the speaker's availability and avoid conflict with public holidays. However, we will do our best to stick to a regular schedule. But please, read the newsletter as we may need to change our date and venue on short notice. As you can see below, we are beginning to add value to your E Club membership. We are starting with a junk trip, with a factory visit in the fall, an expert panel in July and more social visits and networking for members only. If you have any ideas or suggestions, we look forward to hearing from you and I look forward to seeing you at our June meeting. Best regards, Alexandra Yung | |||||
