Starting a business is no easy task, over 90% of businesses that start up in the world don't even make it past the planning stage, but for those that do, the rewards can be enormous. One such company that beat the odds is Limestone-Coast Wines, which has a unique niche in Hong Kong, which is best summed up below:

"Limestone Coast Wines has been in business in Hong Kong for 3 - 4 years and is an ‘own brand’ wine company. Our Wine Warehouse is 12th Floor Horizon Plaza, Ap Lei Chau, an industrial warehouse building near Aberdeen where you can taste wine 7 days a week.

It is a fast expanding business selling carefully selected wines from small award winning wineries of the premium wine growing areas of Australia & New Zealand.

The wines are imported without the winery labels and then labelled under our ‘own brand’ in Hong Kong. (The concept being more like the factory shop that sells the Nike shoe without the swoosh) - a wine in disguise…."

The story of Limestone’s beginnings is inspiring, and Angela Rolston is a great source of knowledge for people who aspire to start their own, as she has lived through it, the ups and downs. This is a great learning opportunity and a chance to relax with link-minded people.

This month we have invited another organisation, the "Hong Kong Association for Business and Professional Women" to join us in an effort to increase your networking opportunities. Members of HKABPW will be there to join the event and network with us. We'll be running our event out of our new venue, the Philia Lounge, and we'll be running our lucky draw for everyone who attends. Feel free to bring a friend or guest.

This promises to be a big event for The E-club, come along and enjoy!

XL Momentum events in October

Who: Masami Sato - The Power of Effective Giving in Business
When: Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 7:00 - 9:30pm
Where: Novotel Century Hong Kong, 238 Jaffe Road, Wanchai

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is becoming such a key part of business practice these days. But what is the real “Effective Giving”? You will discover how giving can really create your wealth. “Effective Giving” is not only about how effectively the money can be used to serve the cause, but also (and more importantly) how it can enable the business to make more profit through the contribution.

Masami is a true ambassador of walking the XL talk by demonstrating in only a few years how one person can make a real difference in this world. She continues to inspire people through out the world on how successful businesses are gaining through their giving. It amazes me how easy Masami has made it look and I suggest that you make every effort to hear her story.

Attend for $200 per person.  Please register for this event by emailing hongkong@resultsfoundation.com
XL Life Members receive complementary entry!
